Connected UK

Connected UK is a web development business with a technical focus delivering online solutions via its range of bespoke tools. Given the nature of the automated / content-managed creation of its websites, search optimisation had suffered and the development team needed to address Search in its products from the inside out.

The Far View interviewed the development team and reviewed the output from its systems noting any inherent search weaknesses produced. The final recommendations enabled Connected UK to integrate search into all of its software at all levels, from simple page titling and alternative text for graphics, to URL strategies.
By taking the team through a 1.5 day session on 'getting the basics right', the developers were able not only to see how these could be implemented but also how more advanced techniques could be integrated.

The Scottish Government 'Wash your hands' campaign
brief/issue
A significant Above the Line (ATL) spend of £2.3m required solid support from the online presence in order to maximise return on investment (ROI). Far View consulted on the whole development process, including structural elements and site copy in order to target the key messages of the campaign. The site was positioned for immediate indexing through organic pre-launch search management activity in order to provide full support for the ATL messages from day one.

Our examination and deep understanding of the project highlighted the need for persistence and long term search strength for this site. The Scottish Government required a site that would continue to deliver this vital message long term. Leveraging the unique position this site occupied enabled us to create a self-building link campaign that is still growing today.

Easyfit – E-commerce
brief/issue
Easy Fit Roof and Conservatories are the leading suppliers of Conservatories in the Central England area, and Far View helped them achieve that market dominance. Easy Fit were suffering from an increasingly expensive Google Adwords pay-per-click campaign that was simply not delivering the goods. Bid rates were too high, yet on-page position was disastrous and subsequent bounce rates were often reaching towards 70%.
solution
Easy Fit were in the dark, and their outside agency had sub-contracted the project leaving them with no visibility. Far View were called in to examine the campaign, and we proved it to be badly managed and poorly targeted. A new campaign was created, this time with total transparency for the client who now receive daily reports and full access to the Google online interface.
Our understanding of their business and culture helped us focus the new campaign on Easy Fit’s core strength of quality, price and geographic dominance. The campaign is rigorous and uncompromising -- much tighter search term targeting was implemented and a highly granular structure set up enabling us to both split test all messages and change online messages to follow offers and new features.
results
The results are dramatic -- bid rates have been reduced by 40%, yet ads are now always served in the number 1 position. Bounce rates have dropped by 65% and lead generation has tripled -- bringing the right audience to the site has paid dividends.
